- Which attracts thousands of improvers who want to learn new improvement methods, and share their innovations, their results, and their enthusiasm.
- This MOOC is the culmination of the marriage of science and improvement that’s characterize my career, both at Harvard and IHI.

- I’m an infectious disease consultant and health care epidemiologist with a special interest in infection control.
- About 10 years ago, I began spending most of my time at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, where I’m Chief Medical and Scientific Officer.
- I also co-direct a Harvard Health Services Research training program and work with a number of academic and health service research organizations.
- Later, we’ll be talking about how I grow cucumbers when we try and teach you how to do small tests of change.
- I’m really fascinated by how technology is beginning to transform the practice of medicine, and particularly, self- management of health and health care by patients.
- I’ve been a student and a practitioner of improvement science since the late 1990s.
- I’m fascinated by helping people appreciate the patient experience, and especially care in the community.
- I’m on a mission to figure out how to make improvement science learning accessible so people can actually go out and create change.
